The Commissioning Process

This process ensures your handmade furniture is uniquely tailored to your needs and style.
  • Meet with Designer: Discuss your vision, style preferences, and requirements.
  • Share Inspiration: Provide images or ideas that reflect your desired look. Client mood boards of their inspirations, likes & dislikes
  • Budget and Expectations: Discuss initial outline budget and expectations from the start as this gives us financial parameters to work the design to.
  • Measurements: The designer measures the space accurately.
  • Evaluate Layout: Assess existing features like plumbing and electrical points. Any other features that might impact the design
  • Concept Designs: draft up initial sketches or digital models based on your input.
  • Material Selection: Samples provided for comment and approval Choose materials, finishes, and hardware.
  • Feedback: Discuss and refine designs based on your feedback.
  • Outline costing: This will be a good estimate based on the current design proposal. Can be revised if needed by design alterations & materials selection if needed.
  • Final Design Approval: Approve the final design and detailed drawings.
  • Quotation: Get a comprehensive quote covering all costs.
  • Timeline: Establish a project timeline with key milestones.
  • Sign Agreement: Finalize a contract outlining the scope and terms.
  • Pay Deposit: Secure the project with an initial deposit.
  • Manufacture: The workshop begins sourcing materials and starts manufacturing your furniture.
  • Regular Updates: Stay informed about the production progress. Pictures of progress and potential workshop visit if so desired
  • Site Readiness: Site must be ready for installation, so dry and trade free with most walls painted and joinery fitted hence limiting the potential of damage by others.
  • Coordinate Delivery: Arrange for materials and components to be delivered to site ready for fitters.
  • Fitting: Skilled installers will assemble and fit your furniture.
  • Adjustments: Make necessary adjustments for a perfect fit.
  • Finishing: Apply final finishes and install hardware where necessary
  • Inspection: Conduct a thorough inspection of the completed furniture and client sign off.
  • Walkthrough: Review your furniture with the designer and fitters checking all is as it should be.
  • Documentation: Receive care instructions and warranties if applicable.
  • Ongoing Support: Get assistance for any post-installation concerns.
  • Maintenance Advice: Learn how to maintain your furniture for longevity.
